Angela has been teaching and guiding over 70 adult students over the last three years for an out of home care organisation who are supporting staff through a Bachelor of Human Services. The role is to transition students to university, as highly experienced professionals, through guiding, tutoring and facilitating the second year of the degree for a Recognised Prior Learning application and to tutor them during their third and final year of study. One of the real challenges and ultimate joys has been translating academic knowledge, content and learning into a practical and consumable way for students so they can apply it to their everyday practice.
Through this teaching and mentoring, Angela’s strengths have been in her ability to interpret information and deliver it in a way that students are able to understand and absorb. For many of the students both they and Angela are proud of the improvements and achievements they have made in such a short time in their written communication and presentation skills. We have a 100% graduation rate and more students progressing into the program.
